Some of you may already be feeling it…that anxious the-holidays-are-right-around-the-corner time crunch. We all have high hopes of getting our knitting/crocheting gifts completed on time. If you are one of the lucky ones and are all caught up and ready to go…well, go treat yourself to some hot chocolate because you are ahead of the game!
But for those that aren’t, I’ve put together a list of my favorite 1, 2, and 3 ball/skein projects that are sure to keep you feeling sane and still merry.
BONUS- Many of these you can make the night before. Take a look at our list and check it twice (click on the image for the pattern link); then head to your favorite yarn shop and get crafty!

With the Fall season upon us, I want to tell you about a new exciting yarn we have at Plymouth.
Mushishi Big is a lofty wool silk blend with long stretches of color. The variations of white silk slubs throughout the softly spun woolen are whimsical and provide depth to this multi-faceted chunky weight.
(Psst, this is a BIG brother to our popular yarn, Mushishi.)
I designed a pair of boot toppers that feature a variation of a stitch called the “Umbrella Stitch.” The undulating nature of the stitch creates a stylish curvature around your calves. The bottom ribbed part of the boot topper will fit snuggly against your legs and provide extra cushion and warmth. It is important you bind off with a nice stretchy method- I like “Jeny’s stretchy bind off” or “tubular bind off” method. Do you have a favorite stretchy bind off method?
I think these would look equally cute with a pair of cowboy boots. Enjoy this free pattern using our new fall yarn!

At this years Pitti Filati show in Florence, Italy. Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Terry Phillips along with his lovely wife, sales rep, Jennifer, arrived to splashes of color in all sorts of interesting mediums. Stuffed animals, traffic cones, and multicolored smoke were just a few ways they were displayed.
It was a long, hot week and Plymouth Yarn is excited to develop new products to share with you in the coming months.

During my vacation last month, I ran across this really cool DIY blog post for a woven pillow. I just had to make it!
I dug through my stash but I couldn’t find any roving laying around (how is that possible? I am ashamed to call myself a yarn stasher :)). But, because necessity is the mother of invention, I realized I had everything I needed when I pulled out some complimentary colors of Galway Roving.
I followed the directions on the blog, but used 4 strands of Galway Roving held together in place of using the actual roving. It took 2 full balls of the Tan and a little more than 2 balls of the Grey.
I do like the results, and the finished pillow is so soft and fluffy!

I am pleased to announce the release of my new shawl knitting pattern, Ojo De Dios Chunky. Plymouth Gina Chunky self stripes into modular-motif triangles. The seamless triangles form the border of the shawl. A v-shaped garter stitch body is picked up and knit afterward. Some of you may know of my original, “little sister” shawl, which is the original Ojo De Dios knit in Plymouth Gina (a worsted weight). I really enjoyed re-designing this shawl concept. Since this is knit in a chunky weight, you’ll be able to knit at a faster pace. I think it took me 3 evenings.
The design is part of a collection of 5 accessories that feature motifs in Interweave Knit’s newest e-book. Designs are from Grace Akhrem, Quenna Lee, Paula B. Levy and Daniela Nii. Just click the link to purchase your copy. You can also purchase a kit for the shawl from Interweave.
Now that I’ve introduced you to the new design……I want to announce I will be hosting a KAL (knit-a-long) and giveaway for my shawl on ravelry in the Plymouth Yarn Group.
To Participate in the KAL:
