From the Design Director’s Desk- Cia Abbott Bullemer
This is the color chosen via Pantone the Color Experts. They predict what the colors will be-or do they set the trend-? What follows what? The chicken or the egg…
Here at Plymouth, we have several different yarns that fill this color range already. Consider using one of these for your next cowl, cardigan or baby girl’s cuddly blanket that she will drag around for years to come. It is just a color that radiates warm sunshine, peace and tranquil emotion.
Baby Alpaca Grande color 834. Baby Alpaca Worsted color 8620, Cleo color 139, DeAire color 7713, Dynamo color # 3, Encore color 958 or color 458, Eros color 7107, Galway 132 or 177, Gina color 1 or color 8, Heaven color 55, Jeannee Worsted color 25, Johanne color 10, Kudo color # 54, Oh My color 9624, Pasea color 1014, Toria color 56, Whitney color 2001, Worsted Merino Superwash color 64 and Sahara color 1312.
Is that enough to choose from?

I am so excited for our fall line-up of yarns this year. Many of you have seen them already and were kind enough to share some of your pictures and projects with us. When we introduce a new line, I normally pick a favorite and go with it. That is impossible this time around ! There are so many beautiful fibers and colors. It’s going to be a busy knitting season for sure! I figured I would share them all with you, in one shot. I will do my best to give the important information you need, even when I really just want to say “It’s just so pretty, I must have it.”
We have a fantastic crew who gets to pick these fabulous yarns. It takes a village you know. They travel to Italy, Turkey, and Peru, just to name a few, to find the highest quality fibers so Plymouth Yarn can offer these to your favorite yarn shops. We have a team of designers who get to play, I mean work, with all of the contenders. They are always hard at work visiting trade and fashion shows to see the latest styles. I consider myself a pretty good knitter but they never cease to amaze me when they demonstrate to us just what these yarns are capable of.
Without further ado…..fall yarns!

I subscribe to just about every knitting magazine or at least get a chance to peek at them here in the office(don’t tell the boss). This week, I found a real gem and wanted to share it with you.
One of my favorite yarns, DeAire, a super bulky, soft, luxurious, fine merino wool is featured in Vogue Knitting‘s Holiday issue on newsstands November 6th. Check out their special Collector’s Issue featuring an A to Z guide of the latest knitting styles. P is for Poncho! Designer Marcia Cleary, sizes small/medium(15 hanks), large/X-large(16 hanks), 2X/3X(17 hanks). Using DeAire white, color 100. You can see the entire collection on VK360°

Ravelry is chocked full of fabulous patterns for these yarns. I couldn’t just pick one to share so click here for the link to all of them! August is always an exciting time here at Plymouth Yarn. New yarns are arriving and fall orders are leaving. I love when customers call and thank us for all the boxes of beautiful yarns. We use this next week or two to get ready for the upcoming season. We kicked it off yesterday with our employee breakfast. After breakfast, we took advantage of the beautiful weather to snap an employee photo or two.

I love this time of year also because I get to chat about Christmas knitting projects with everyone. Usually, there is a lot of Encore colors 1386 and 54 heading out the door and I’m excited to use Holiday Lights in some of my projects this year. It has the same gauge and about the same yardage as Encore Worsted. Log into Ravelry today and download this free Encore Christmas Stocking pattern (hint- you can also use Holiday Lights).
