joined together for the Fourth Annual I-91 Shop Hop! A shop hop is a fun way to
visit new and interesting yarn shops in a defined geographical area.
The I-91 Shop Hop will take place June 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th.
All participating shops will be open from 10 am-6 pm on Thursday, Friday & Saturday and
12 pm-5 pm on Sunday. Please note, many shops normally offer extended hours on
Thursday evenings and will do so during the Shop Hop.
The Mystery Tour
This year the I-91 Shop Hop will take you on a Mystery Tour. Each shop will hand out
an exclusive clue to the Mystery Knit Project. Collect all 12 and see what your knitting
needles can produce.
The Knitty Gritty Details
Within this passport you will find a dedicated page for each participating shop. As you
visit each shop, be sure you have the back cover stamped to show that you have visited
that shop. If you visit all 12 shops on the Shop Hop, you will be entered to win the Grand
Prize. When you receive your final stamp, the shop will tear off your back page and you
will be entered into the drawing. The drawing will take place on Monday, June 30, 2014.
Fabulous Grand Prize: $600 in Gift Certificates & More!
The Grand Prize will consist of yarn, books, tools & accessories from many of our wonderful
suppliers, PLUS a $50 gift certificate from every shop participating in the Shop Hop.
Two Incredible Runners-up Prizes, Too!
In addition to the Grand Prize, there will be two smaller prizes consisting of six $50 gift
cards to some of the participating shops along with a selection of yarn, tools, books and
accessories from some of our great suppliers!
Each shop will have a daily raffle drawing of items donated from many of our wonderful
suppliers. You are entered into the daily raffles by visiting the shop that day and completing
an entry form. You do not have to be present to win the daily raffle. New this year: on
Sunday afternoon each shop will take all raffle tickets from the weekend and draw one
winning ticket. The winner receives a Ball Winder & Swift.
The Fun Doesn’t Stop When the Shop Hop Ends!
Hold onto your souvenir Black 2014 Shop Hop Bag. Not only is it
great for all of your yarn shopping excursions throughout the year,
it will be your ticket to 10% savings on Saturday, March 15, 2015.
Stop by any of the participating shops and show your bag at checkout
for 10% off your purchase! Certain exclusions may apply.

I refuse to admit that I am behind on my Christmas knitting so I’m celebrating Halloween a little extra this year. I have severe carpal tunnel that has been plaguing me . Surgery on righty has been completed, lefty is going under the knife in just a couple of months. Knitting has been slow going and crochet has been a little easier for me. That being said….here are some things that make me happy about Halloween.
This guy hangs out at the Destin Yarn Shop, Miramar Beach, FL 850-650-0006.
It’s time for Encore Worsted color 1008 to shine
Jan Lewis’ Free Pumpkin Pattern on Ravelry
Encore Worsted. Click on link above for free download
and one more thing I love about Halloween-this sweater! Free download is available at plymouthyarn.com

Maybe next time I’ll be willing to admit that Christmas is less than 9 weeks away.

During the week of July 4th, Plymouth Yarn’s Marketing Manager, Christine and Design Director, Cia traveled to Florence, Italy for the Pitti Filati trade show. This event is “the main international event for the knitting yarn industry, a research lab and an observatory on global lifestyle trends.” They met with some of our current suppliers, visited some new ones and toured halls full of gorgeous designs. Our team is working hard to bring these new products to yarn shop shelves in the upcoming seasons.
Bold colors were everywhere!
Creative colors and design work
Classic beauty and elegance
Love the fur and fringe details!
Delicate sparkle and softness
Beautiful bows and braids!
Of course there are fun and funky looks too!

Let’s knit something that we can work up quickly. And in the end have a nice accessory that can be worn on a nice summer evening, or carried along for that blasting air conditioning indoors. And then lo and behold you will find it is your “go-to” accessory for all seasons.
I know this for a fact because I made one of these about 2 years ago with Kudo. And I seriously wear it all year long. Even if the reasoning is to just spruce up your color for the day, or to ward off that chill at the back of the neck. And there is inevitably always a nice comment by someone every single time I wear it.
This one in the pattern is made out of a new colorway # 61, I adore. Get outside the box and find your favorite Kudo color. My first one I made was out of # 47. Cheerful, huh? It only takes ONE ball and pretty mindless – but not brainless- to knit. I always love knitting this stitch, Half Linen Stitch. It lays beautifully, it is fun to work, and not as much work as seed stitch or the sand stitch. But almost the same motion.
Have fun! And click here to find a shop near you!

Every three years, TNNA conducts a very important survey called the TNNA State of Specialty NeedleArts 2013 needle artist survey. The more responses from knitters, crocheters, needlepointers, cross-stitchers, weavers, and spinners, the better the results for YOUR needleart! See below for official TNNA info and link to the survey…..
The 10-minute survey asks about your experiences with the needlearts you
enjoy: crocheting, cross-stitch, embroidery, knitting, needlepoint,
spinning, or weaving. Let us know which types of projects you prefer, how
you like to learn, and what you’d like to see needlearts shops do better.
The needlearts community needs your advice and opinions, whether you are a
beginner or an expert! This survey is conducted every few years by The
National NeedleArts Association (TNNA). Your input is very important and
will be included in a published national report.
Your answers are anonymous. No one will use your survey responses to market
In return for your participation, you will receive valuable benefits:
. Gain a chance to win one of five $100 needlearts gift certificates.
. Ensure stores, manufacturers, and other suppliers provide what you want.
. Explore your needlearts interests.
Your valuable input will also help the needlearts community:
. Give guilds, associations, community groups, and others guidance to grow
the world of needlearts.
. Help independent retailers and family-owned suppliers succeed by giving
them the customer feedback they need.
Please complete the triennial national Yarn, Stitching, and Weaving 2013
